This policy explains how the Catholic Lawyers Guild of San Antonio (CLGSA) collects, uses, and stores your personal data.

Visitors: Visitors worldwide may access the CLGSA website to find out more about the CLGSA, its activities, mission, and membership.
Because CLGSA services and information are intended for use by San Antonio area (Texas, USA) residents only, the website does not purport to be GDPR compliant.
Members: CLGSA membership is restricted to licensed Texas attorneys, Texas judges, and Texas paralegals, legal assistants, and Texas law students. The CLGSA Attorney Directory lists San Antonio area Catholic attorneys and their contact information with the express written consent of each attorney.
SiteGround hosts the CLGSA website and SiteGround is GDPR compliant.
1) COLLECTION OF DATA – DATA YOU PROVIDE AND AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION
A) DATA YOU PROVIDE
When you access the CLGSA website and view any pages, CLGSA does not directly request or collect any personal data from you.
If You Are Seeking a Local Catholic Attorney:
If you are seeking a Texas Catholic attorney, we strongly recommend that you contact the attorney directly, using the CLGSA Directory.
To Register as a Member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of San Antonio:
Please download the Member Registration Form, complete it, and send your membership dues to the address provided on the form. The information on the membership form will be used to promote your legal practice through the CLGSA Directory online and to contact you regarding events of CLGSA and other state, national, and international events that may be of interest to you, including continuing legal education. For example, we may send you information from the Catholic Bar Association, from the Archdiocese of San Antonio, and from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Paper membership forms will be kept for a minimum of one year by the CLGSA Board.
Contact Information Removal—Members may request to have their paper registration form destroyed and their name and contact information removed from the CLGSA Directory at any time. Members may request to have their email address removed from the CLGSA confidential email list at any time.
Because this is a volunteer organization, please allow up to 60 days for removal.
Contact CLGSA Directly:
If you need to contact CLGSA directly, please use the contact links provided on the website. If you contact us, we will collect, use, and store your personal data to provide you with the information you have requested. We will keep your data as long as we deem necessary to respond to your request and to follow up with you, unless you request us to delete the data sooner. Note that governmental regulations and laws may require that we maintain your data even if you request that we delete it.
B) AUTOMATIC COLLECTION OF DATA
By visiting the CLGSA website, certain types of information are received and collected to establish the connection through SiteGround, such as but not limited to, your IP address, your browser type and operating system, a referral location, and the date and time of your access.
CLGSA does not intentionally use website analytics tools to track your visits or to provide you with any services. We do not accept online payments. We do not provide visitor data to third parties for marketing such visitor information or for marketing the services of CLGSA.
2) HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
We may use your personal data to respond to your request for information about the CLGSA, its activities, and for attorney referrals based upon your request. Again, we recommend that you use the CLGSA Directory to maintain confidentiality by contacting attorneys directly if you need legal assistance.
B) Membership Renewals
If you have registered as a member, we may use your information to notify you of annual due deadlines.
C) CLGSA Business
Personal information may be used to notify members of upcoming CLGSA events and information, such as Red Mass, monthly meetings, nominations for office, board election results, and our scholarship activities. We may contact you for assistance with Red Mass, CLGSA meetings, the annual Christian Legal Society and CLGSA lunch, and community events, including continuing legal education opportunities.
D) Requests for Assistance and Continuing Legal Education
We may contact members to inform them of requests for assistance, either legal or financial, from the Archdiocese of San Antonio, St. Mary’s University, Bexar County, the Catholic Bar Association, the City of San Antonio, the Christian Legal Society, or other events that may be of interest to members. For example, St. Mary’s University may send CLGSA a request for attorneys to volunteer as judges for law student events. Furthermore, the Archdiocese of San Antonio has asked the CLGSA for volunteers on Advocacy Day in Austin, Texas.
E) Connectivity and Analytics
SiteGround may use automated data collection and storage to provided you with connection services, to analyze problems with the servers, to prevent fraud or abuse of systems, to improve hosting services, to administer and manage site traffic, and to comply with any and all legal requirements. Such collection is outside of the control of CLGSA. You may view SiteGround's data collection policies.
3) DATA PURPOSES AND PROCESSING
When you visit CLGSA online, SiteGround and CLGSA must collect, use, and store your data. However, CLGSA is committed to collecting only the data that we need to provide services to you. Our goal as a volunteer legal organization is to keep you clearly informed as to the use of your information, to comply with the law, and to respect your privacy. We strive to use your information for those purposes you have consented to, whether you are a member consenting to promoting your legal services online or a visitor seeking legal assistance.
Use of your information is based upon the following circumstances:
A) Your Consent: You establish consent by submitting a registration form to become a member or by emailing us your contact information, whether or not you are a member or visitor. You may withdraw your consent at any time. CLGSA does not maintain an online user area for members or for visitors.
B) Contract: The registration form acts as a contract for a minimum of one year for inclusion in the CLGSA Directory online, provided that you have checked the Directory box on the form. You have the right to limit and to edit the information provided in the online directory at any time.
C) Legal Compliance: We may use your personal data as required by law to comply with court orders, legal obligations, and to exercise and defend legal claims.
D) Our Legitimate Organizational Interests: We may use your personal data for the following reasons:
- to provide you the services and information you have requested
- to follow up with you after completion of services
- to address any issues you may have with the CLGSA website as to content, format, or connectivity
- to inform members or anyone who has expressed interest in membership about CLGSA information, events, and board election results, community requests for assistance or information, and continuing legal education.

CLGSA treats all personal data provided and collected as confidential. CLGSA has no affiliates or subsidiaries. We do not sell visitor or member information.
CLGSA uses a confidential group list to protect the privacy of member email addresses. However, CLGSA will share all or part of your data under the following conditions:
- If required by law
- With your consent
- With third party vendors as necessary for website access and maintenance
- To protect public and individual rights and property in good faith
SiteGround will retain information as necessary to provide connectivity and maintenance to the CLGSA website. CLGSA will retain member information in paper format. CLGSA will strive to maintain a current confidential email list for members. Members may request to have their email address removed at any time from the confidential email list.
7) YOUR RIGHTS
CLGSA does not maintain an online User Area for members or visitors. However, you have certain rights regarding the information you provide to us as a member or as a visitor:
- You may request a copy of your membership registration form
- You may request destruction of your paper membership registration form
- You may request deletion or changes to your information in the CLGSA Directory online
- You may request deletion or changes to our use of your email address in the CLGSA member email list
- You may request deletion or changes to website photos that recognizably feature your name or image.
8) AGE RESTRICTIONS
CLGSA membership is restricted to legal professionals over the age of 18. CLGSA website services are intended for visitors over the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, you are not permitted the use of CLGSA membership or website services.
This policy may be changed at any time to comply with legal requirements or CLGSA policies.
